The Role

The West Region Public Sector team at Lumen is looking for a talented, competent and driven colleague who has made technology sales their long-term career choice to join our growing sales team of six.

The Main Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops new sales opportunities within a specific territory, provides product solutions in collaboration with the solution architecture teams, and maintains productive, outcome-focused ongoing relationships to maximize sales and service revenue for the company.
  • Develops deep understanding of the customer s business problems and positions the Lumen Platform as the foundation of long-term partnerships.
  • Represents Lumen at channel- or region-specific public events and collaborates with the marketing team to evangelize the Lumen platform.
  • Develops and maintains accurate sales and revenue forecasts, and achieves monthly and annual sales targets.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing sales in the designated target market by identifying new sales opportunities through a sustained and rigorous prospecting cadence, virtual meetings, presentation sessions and partner networking.
  • Develops action plans and account-specific sales plans to increase overall total customer spend with the company.
  • Aggressively pursues deeper knowledge of new technologies and sales techniques to increase the sales volume.
  • Provides comprehensive account plans and flexible methodology to win new business from new and existing accounts.
  • Provides accurate and detailed weekly forecast and funnel updates in order to meet or exceed sales quota requirements.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Basic
Qualifications:

  • Minimum skills required to perform in this role.
  • 5
    years of direct sales experience in IT, Data Center and/or Telecommunications sales, including VARs and System Integrators.
  • Practical Understanding of the OSI Model, Wide Area Networking and Voice Infrastructure.
  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce.com)
  • Proficient in MS office products:
    Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The candidate must be comfortable in a virtual environment hosting meetings in Zoom, TEAMS, WebEx and Citrix Go-to-meeting.
  • Strong communication skills and formal presentation ability are expected.

Preferred
Experience:

  • Ability to translate corporate strategies into day-to-day tactical engagements.
  • Ability to assess competing priorities quickly, delegate effectively and keep all task-owners, regardless of reporting structure, accountable to the customer's objective.
  • Understanding of cloud and network security trends.
  • Self-sufficient, pro-active, results-oriented sales professional who is open to coaching and learning

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
