Maintenance Manager Position
Summary:
Position has the responsibility to coordinate and execute maintenance of the Brownsville Plant.
Maintenance Manager Primary Objectives:
The Maintenance Manager ensures safety of Lignetics and contract personnel through use of best safety practices (LOTO, confined space, electrical safety, Safety Concern Forms, incident investigation, etc.
) Responsible for the maintenance operations concerned with the installation and repair of all machinery and other mechanical and electrical equipment used in the production operation.
Maintain a preventative maintenance program to ensure safe working conditions, minimal production downtime, and equipment sustainability Maintain inventories and order parts, as needed, for equipment Consult, obtain bids, and work closely with outside contractors Supervise and train Millwrights and LME apprentice to troubleshoot all equipment on plant site Manage and participate in the rebuild or repair of pellet mills, conveyors, screws, gearboxes, chains using hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills Prioritize and delegate maintenance schedules and activities, track production down time, schedule maintenance days and weekend projects Drive improvement in all maintenance systems by learning and supporting the Maintenance Excellence program Provide regular reports to Plant Manager regarding safety and maintenance concerns and projects Participate in employee performance management, hiring, disciplinary and termination meetings Maintenance Manager Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
High School diploma or GED required Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) card preferred Journeyman Millwright card preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in journeyman level millwright or equivalent experience PLC knowledge a plus Basic understanding of electrical concepts Project planning & implementation, PM program experience, and supervisory experience preferred Experience developing/implementation/managing PM programs preferred Basic knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) Working Conditions:
The Maintenance Manager will spend time in the plant working on equipment and/or directing his team to complete projects or repairs.
In addition, office time will be used for planning, scheduling, and reporting.
Will need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion Will need to walk, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch to inspect site conditions as needed Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including eye and ear protection, respiratory protective gear, fall prevention harnesses, and other gear that may be required for access to certain areas of a Lignetics facility Good reasoning and problem-solving skills Will be exposed to slippery surfaces, pinch points, trip and fall hazards, and overhead obstacles Must be able to work under a variety of weather conditions Acknowledgement:
